What Does It Mean to Dream About Fish?
A fish in a dream speaks of an idea or intuition rising from the depths, or of abundance.
In tradition
In traditional dream lore, fish are seen as abundance and nourishment. A living fish is read as a good gain, a dead fish as a missed opening.
Psychological view
Because it lives under water, the fish symbolises what rises from the subconscious. Fishing can describe a time when you are trying to understand yourself.
Spiritual view
A symbol of intuition and faith; trusting the flow.
Common versions
Catching fish
the patience it takes to reach what you are looking for.
A big fish
an important opening.
A dead fish
a hope that has run its course.
Fish in an aquarium
feelings you are keeping under control.
Ask yourself
Did the fish slip through your hands, or did you catch it? Have you recently ignored a gut feeling?
